The Capitol Pressroom Program for January 4, 2010
If you put your ear to the floor outside the pressroom in the hallway, you can practically feel the well of emotions coming from legislators, staffers and reporters. Emotions that run the gamut — anticipation, anxiety, excitement and resignation. There’s a good reason for it: We are 2 days away from the official start of a new legislative session, which in many ways is like the first day of school. Except that in politics, one school bleeds into the next. Coming up on the show Michael Gormley of the Associated Press and Rick Karlin of the Albany Times Union will catch you up on the latest political stories, all of which began last term or earlier, and probably won’t graduate for another several years. And then we will talk about the political equivalent of an extreme makeover? a constitutional convention with Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb and Assemblyman Will Barclay. All this and more on this episode of The Capitol Pressroom.
