The Capitol Pressroom Program for May 12, 2010
Iām Susan Arbetter with Jay Gallagher ā there are a few big stories coming out of the Capitol today ā The first is that the clock is ticking down on Power for Jobs legislation. The job creation incentive package is set to expire at the end of the week unless the legislature reforms and extends the plan. What are the sticking points? The two competing legislative bills are somewhat different; we will meet with the bill sponsors, Assemblyman Cahill and Senator Aubertine. And there has been some significant progress regarding how New York State may soon evaluate teachers. State Ed, the teachers unions and the Board of Regents presented the legislature with an outline that it seems they all can support which means that NY could meet the next Race to the Top deadline
